History of Cambridge Fetal Care
Cambridge Fetal Care was founded in 2001 to provide private and consultant specialist led ultrasound imaging and prenatal diagnostic services for women in Cambridge and the surrounding counties.
The service is provided within the Fetal Medicine Department at the Rosie Hospital, the maternity unit of Addenbrooke’s, which is a partner to Cambridge Fetal Care. Although the service is a private one, a proportion of the fees are re-invested in the running of the Hospital’s Fetal Medicine Department to fund staff, research activity, and extra equipment. Our clinics run on weekday evenings.
At Cambridge Fetal Care, you will be scanned by a consultant obstetrician with many years’ experience in ultrasound imaging who currently practise tertiary level fetal medicine. This means that they not only have the technical ability to perform these scans but also the confidence and competence to advise you if you have queries, concerns, or if a problem is found during your scan.
All personnel are certified as competent in the measurement of fetal nuchal translucency and are regularly revalidated by the Fetal Medicine Foundation.
